About Us
Born in Twickenham and moved to Jersey, Channel Islands, when I was a child, I have lived by the sea most of my life. I have been extremely privileged to see the sea on a daily basis from my living room window for more than 15 years. I have also been very fortunate that living next to the beach has allowed me to collect various treasures along its shores.
My interest in beach huts came when my brother moved to South Devon in 2000. My grandparents had lived and retired in Dawlish and have long since passed away. It seemed strange and exciting to be revisiting areas that I had not seen for so many years. We called through Paignton, with its rows and rows of endless beach huts, offering a hue of colour, even on the dullest of days. Since then my passion for beach huts has grown and grown, fuelled by other people’s passion to buy my creations.
I started to sell my beach hut Lavender bags in 2007, at the Farmers and Craft market. This market is generally held every second Saturday, during the spring /summer /autumn season. Please feel free to drop by and say hello.
I am always adding new bits and pieces to my collection. I have now created many beach huts on all sorts of materials, my lavender beach hut bags proving to be the most popular. The lavender, with its strong pungent smell, is collected from my brother’s garden at Bigbury, where Agatha Christie wrote her novels and 'Poirot' has been filmed.
